Gone (An Ecumenical Dialogue)

On the evening of Maundy Thursday, I ate dinner with two priests (both are students at The School).

Upon asking one of them what plans he had for Good Friday, I was given the response, “I’ll be working on my thesis.”

I was both shocked and scandalized. “On Good Friday?! That’s terrible!”

The other priest nodded approvingly of my response and commented, “Spoken like a good Catholic.”

I have no plans to convert, but it’s nice to know that if I should ever want to, I’ve got options.
