Words To Live By (A Variation)

I attended an academic seminar this afternoon. The presenter is one of the heavy-weights in my field and I enjoyed the paper and ensuing discussion immensely.

Some of my peers decided to go out for drinks afterwards. Being officially swamped, however, and needing to finish preparations for this week's class, I declined.

In an attempt to convince me to join them, one of my peers scoffed at my sense of duty and responsiblity to my students and then proceeded to give me new words to live by:
