The Highest Form of Flattery...

... for a professor is not imitation.

For a professor, the highest forms of flattery are repeat students and recommendations to peers to take a course with that professor.

And judging from the full enrollments in my spring courses (including some students from the current semester) and the comments of my students ("I suggested that my friend take a course with Dr. S.W."), I'm being paid some pretty high quality compliments.

To the disappointment of my current students, however, their flattery won't affect my judgment when I assign the final grades...
