It's That Time of Year...

... when my grades have been submitted and my students send emails inquiring why their grades aren't what they expected.

To be fair, the students' emails have been very polite (a nice change from last semester).

But that doesn't make it any easier for me to inform them that although their written work was at the A level, their C- on the final exam brought their final grade down to a B.

Do you suppose that this part of the job will ever get any easier?
