On Two-Way Streets
On the one hand, my students don't like it when I lecture for the whole class period (a whopping 50 minutes). I can see it in their body language, glazed faces, and closed eyes.
On the other hand, they don't want to do small group activities or large group discussions. I can hear it in the sighs, the uninterested voices of discussion, and the lack of thoughtful answers.
I want to be a good teacher to them, but teaching is a two-way street.
