Gone (Red Country)

I'm signed up to see Red Country for five days next week. (It's on the east side of the Salty Sea; and it really is red.)

We'll leave Monday morning and return Friday night.

And I couldn't be any less excited about this trip.

I'd rather spend my last week in The City actually in The City. Finish my paper, sit in The School's garden, and spend time with friends here.

But if I don't go this time, I suspect that I'll never go to Red Country. Not simply because I have no interest in that place, but also because the political situation may change in the future in a way that makes it impossible to go at all.

Well, at least I won't need to worry about having 900+ photos of rocks when I return...
