A Random Observation
I realized early on that my students in SmallTown were rather traditional: a strong sense of right and wrong, a well-developed work ethic, many from close-knit communities.
Through a number of conversations, I was surprised to learn that a handful of my female students were engaged to be married after graduation next June.
But as I supervised final exams last week, I was shocked when I realized that quite a number of my female students were wearing engagement rings, at least one-third to one-half of them.
Yet another piece of evidence that I'm not in Kansas any more...
