I Never Thought I'd Say This

I received a letter in the mail today that contained some very odd news, indeed.

First, I had been nominated for a bursary. (I have never heard of this bursary and hadn't known that I had been nominated.)

Second, I had been awarded this bursary. (How could I have been awarded a bursary from a club to which I don't even belong?)

Finally, the bursary would be formally awarded at a dinner, my attendance was requested, and enclosed I would find two tickets for this dinner. ($175/ticket! Yikes!!)

I haven't yet decided whether or not I'll accept this bursary, but if I do, then, in light of the fact that they sent me two tickets, I'm afraid that I will say something that I never thought I'd say:

I think I need to find a date for this dinner.
